Community System Reframing

Tough Bodega combines fashion, daily goods, food, and cultural objects in one space, but the initial risk was fragmentation: too many categories, no shared logic, and an unclear role within the neighborhood. The core challenge was to prevent it from becoming a chaotic concept store and instead turn it into a coherent social place.

The project was strategically reframed from a curated shop into a bodega-style community interface, defined by everyday visits, participation, and repeat interaction rather than by products alone.

Based on the visual logic of traditional bodegas—high-saturation colors, large typography, and dense layouts—the system was constructed to organize mixed categories through daily-use scenarios instead of strict classifications. Visual language, spatial flow, and event formats were aligned as one continuous operational system.

“Ricercar” studies how systems remember their origins, how

repetition becomes variation, and how variation leads to coherence.

It is a practice of returning, so that what moves can begin to think.
